My Place – Our Space!

Liebe Userinnen der My-Place-Our-Space*-App,

schön, dass ihr da seid! Denn, egal, ob der Lieblingsskatepark, ein neuer Fitnessparcours, ein Ort zum Relaxen, eine Beratungsstelle oder das Jugendzentrum von nebenan – Darmstadt bietet jungen Menschen viele kostenlose und frei zugängliche Orte und Angebote. Und um genau solche Orte soll es in dieser App gehen. Wir freuen uns sehr, euch hier auf einen Blick die vielfältigen kostenlosen oder kostengünstigen Angebote für junge Darmstädter*innen oder Besucher*innen präsentieren zu können. Und das Beste ist: Die App wurde nicht nur während eines von der Europäischen Union geförderten Erasmus+ – Projektes von jungen Menschen aus Darmstadt (Georg-Büchner-Schule) und Alkmaar, Niederlande (Petrus Canisius College) für junge Menschen in Darmstadt entwickelt, sondern soll auch weiterhin durch diese wachsen. Denn ihr könnt hier sowohl gezielt über die Karte und die unterschiedlichen Icons nach bestimmten Aktivitäten oder Angeboten suchen und euch einen ersten Eindruck über diese verschaffen als auch selbst mit geringem Aufwand neue Orte hinzufügen. So kann dann auch euer Lieblingsplatz zum gemeinsamen Raum für alle jungen Darmstädter*innen werden. In diesem Sinne wünschen wir euch ganz viel Spaß beim Durchklicken und Erkunden und natürlich vor allem auch beim Ausprobieren und Erleben in der Realität!

Dear Users of the My Place-Our Space App,

it’s great that you’re here! Whether it’s your favorite skate park, a new fitness trail, a place to relax, an advisory center or the youth center next door – Darmstadt offers many free and freely accessible places and services to young people. This app is all about such places: My Place – Our Space.

We are delighted to be able to present you with a wide range of free or low-cost activities for young people from Darmstadt or from elsewhere. The app was not only developed during an Erasmus+ project, funded by the European Union, by young people from Darmstadt (Georg-Büchner-Schule) and Alkmaar, Netherlands (Petrus Canisius College) for young people in Darmstadt, but is also intended to continue to grow thanks to them. You can use the map and the various icons to search for specific activities or places and get a first impression of them, as well as add new places yourself with little effort. This way, your favorite place can become a common space for all young Darmstadt residents. With this in mind, we hope you have lots of fun clicking through and exploring and, above all, trying things out and experiencing them in real life!

FAQs (deutsch)

Warum erscheint mein Ort nicht direkt, nachdem ich ihn hochgeladen habe?

Wir prüfen deine Einreichung und geben sie im Anschluss zur Veröffentlichung frei. Dies kann einige Tage dauern.

Muss ich die Kurzbeschreibung des Ortes auf Deutsch und auf Englisch verfassen?

Da die Seite auch für junge Menschen gedacht ist, die kein Deutsch sprechen, freuen wir uns, wenn euer Text zweisprachig ist. Dies ist aber kein Muss.

Kann ich auch Fotos von mir und meinen Freunden oder anderen Personen hochladen?

Bilder, auf denen Personen zu sehen sind, werden von uns nicht freigegeben, da wir nicht prüfen können, ob die jeweilige Person ihre Zustimmung zu dem Foto gemäß DSGVO gegeben hat. Diese Bilder werden von uns daher sofort gelöscht.

Kann ich auch kommerzielle Orte wie Shops oder Restaurants hier hochladen?

In unserer App geht es tatsächlich um öffentlich zugängliche und inklusive Orte, die kostengünstig oder kostenfrei sind. Daher werden wir kommerzielle Orte nicht freigeben.

Gibt es etwas, worauf ich in Bezug auf die Bilder der Orte achten muss?

Achte darauf, dass keine Menschen auf den Bildern, sondern wirklich nur der Ort zu sehen ist. Wir empfehlen Totalaufnahmen im Querformat. Prinzipiell geben wir nur ein Foto pro Ort frei. Wenn du Orte fotografierst, die keine öffentlichen Plätze darstellen (wie zum Beispiel Jugendzentren oder Beratungsstellen), dann frage um Erlaubnis, bevor du ein Foto machst und es hier hochlädst. Nicht autorisierte Fotos müssen von uns sonst wieder gelöscht werden.

Darf ich Fotos aus dem Netz nehmen?

Nein, das könnte rechtliche Probleme geben. Mach die Fotos bitte selbst und nutze nur diese.

Why does my location not appear immediately after I have uploaded it?

We check your submission first and then release it for publication. This may take a few days.

Do I have to write the short description of the location in German and in English?

Since the site is also intended for young people who do not speak German, we are happy if your text is bilingual. However, this is not a must.

Can I also upload photos of myself and my friends or other people?

We do not approve images that show people, as we cannot check whether the person in question has given their consent to the photo in accordance with the GDPR. We will therefore delete these images immediately.

Can I also upload commercial locations such as stores or restaurants here?

This app is really about publicly accessible and inclusive places that are inexpensive or free of charge. Therefore, we will not release commercial places.

Is there anything I need to pay attention to with regard to the pictures of the locations?

Make sure that there are no people in the pictures, only the location. We recommend total shots in landscape format. Generally, we only release one photo per location. If you photograph places that are not public spaces (such as youth centers or counseling centers), ask for permission before taking a photo and uploading it here. Otherwise, we will have to delete unauthorized photos.

Can I use photos from the Internet?
